Walking Toward Wisdom

Walking Toward Wisdom is my SoulCollage card depicting the Crone.  SoulCollage is a process of creating and using collaged images to reveal, understand, and appreciate aspects of ourselves.  This magical process was developed by Jungian therapist, Seena B. Frost of Santa Cruz, California.

The term "Crone" has gotten a pretty bad rap. The Dark Ages relegated elder women to the dusty corners and did it's best to extinguish their power.  Our Age rebirths her (us!) into full participation.  We have incredible gifts to share with each other, our families, our communities, our planet. The Crone by Suzie

"I am the One who laughs in the face of catastrophe. I enjoy the wild ride of life and all its ups and downs. I travel in many vehicles, but most of all in spirit. I rise above obstacles. I’ve left behind effort and find the easy way through any apparent set back with amusement. My boat is tied to the dock for the times when I might need it. I'm a practical Crone. The rosy pink tourmaline fills my heart with love. But don't be offended if I laugh. I don't take anything seriously! If you need to cross a river, and it seems impossible, call on me. We’ll always find another way."

A wonderful quote from Dance of the Dissident Daughter by Sue Monk Kidd relates well to this card.  Kidd describes an incident of unbounded oneness saying " I knew that I was part of one vast, universal quilt...I knew that this quilt was itself, the Holy Thing, the manifestation of the Divine One.  And I loved the universal quilt, every stitch, color, and fiber with a heartbreaking love."
